I have been a long reader of Steve's blogs. He is fluent in 9 languages. He has a language system which he developed on the basis of his language principles that he had acquired over his long journey of learning many languages. I have heard him speaking in other languages apart from his native language English; he came across very fluent in all of them. That was quite a feat! I wish I could learn that many languages oneday!

I really agree with his methodology of learning a new language. Repetitive listening to a content item over and over again and then reading it again as many times will help learners to comprehend the language better. That way the learner can understand the general meaning of the content without experiencing any headaches. He or she will be geared to learn more and more in the language without being frustrated if they can get the gist of the content item.

He is my mentor. I will always be learning something from him and enhancing my knowledge about  methods of learning a new language.

If I were into the shoes of a new learner who is alien to English language, I would give the linguist a huge try!
